A blast from the past.  This is a picture I did more than 40 years ago, when I was a young, just-married man.  It was from a slide of the Loop District on the Alaskan Railroad.  I gave it to my wife Patricia and she still loves it.  It was done with an instructor who coached me in using a bent piece of wire to guide me as I "drew" the tressel lines with a thinned down oil and a drafting tool used to hold the oil instead of a piece of pencil lead.  It was an interesting project then and predated our move to Anchorage in August of 1970.

Luke and Angus McGuyver  16x20 oil on canvas completed 2-12-13.  This was a result of my daughter's request for a picture to hang on the walls of the veterinary clinic where she works.

Underpainting of Luke and Angus McGyver.  This was from my daughter's picture below. I usually only work from my own images, but she suggested I put some pictures up at her vet clinic, and I thought.. why not PET pictures.  Of course Luke is the real pet here and this connects the dots for both of us!  16x20 acrylic underpainting using umber and white, awaiting some touch-up and oil layers next week. Done 1/29/13.
